Experience the world of one of Vienna’s most famous coffee houses – the traditional Café Hawelka. During an exclusive coffee tasting, you will discover the secrets of the perfect coffee: from the selection of the best raw beans to the ideal roasting and the optimal boiling temperature.
Enjoy a private coffee tasting in our Hawelka Coffee Roastery Shop at Dorotheergasse 7. Ideal for visitors to the city and anyone who wants to know more about coffee. For companies, we offer the flexibility of full-day or half-day events tailored specifically to your needs. Currently only available in German. You also have the option of renting our coffee shop exclusively for your event.

With us, you can enjoy absolute flexibility by renting the venue for a full or half day. Our offer includes not only first-class coffee, but also typical pastries from our coffee house – an ideal combination for an unforgettable experience. The café offers space for up to 15 people – ideal for small company parties and events.

Are you familiar with the subtleties between Wiener Melange, Einspänner and Verlängertem? True connoisseurs of Viennese coffee house culture never just order a simple “coffee”, but specify their choice of preparation. Immerse yourself in Viennese coffee culture!
During an exclusive coffee tasting, you will learn interesting facts about coffee, recognize the different tastes and aromas of the different types of coffee, the perfect boiling temperature and learn about the differences between our own roasts. Our barista will serve you a wide variety of Viennese coffee specialties such as a Viennese Melange, the large brown coffee or a Einspänner.
The tasting takes place on a small scale and, if requested, exclusively. A maximum of 8 people are allowed per tasting.
The Hawelka coffee tasting can be booked from Tuesday to Friday at 10 a.m. The coffee tasting is accompanied by delicious pastries from Hawelka.
Information about the coffee tasting:
- Duration: 60 minutes – Tuesday to Friday, 10:00-11:00 am
- Bookable for 2-8 people
- Can be booked as a private group for 3 people or more
(e.g. for team building events, stag or hen party activities, etc.) - Wheelchair accessible
- Location: Kaffee Rösterei Hawelka Shop,
Dorotheergasse 7, 1010 Wien - The tasting will take place in German, English on request

Coffee tasting
From Tuesday to Friday you have the opportunity to take part in our coffee tasting in the Hawelka Shop – directly opposite Café Hawelka. Seats can be easily booked online.
During the tasting you will gain insights into Viennese coffee culture and learn, among other things, the difference between a cappuccino and the typical Viennese Melange. The tasting can also be booked privately for groups of 3 or more people.
